With all the typical charm and grace of a Fender Strat, the Special Edition Noir HSS is an affordable Strat with a great set of new appointments. From its neat Satin Black finish and matching headcap and pickguard, to its HSS pickup configuration, sound and style are on a level playing field here.

Body

The Stratocaster is easily recognised by its time-honoured slick double cutaway body which provides full access to all of the neck. Alder is the popular tonewood of choice in the body of a Strat and this remains the case with the Special Edition Noir, offering a comfortable yet lightweight playing feel. The body comes in a brand new Satin Black finish with matching pickguard and headcap for a polished, performance-ready appearance.

Neck

Firmly joined to the body is a maple neck with a satin urethane finish for seamless movements. The neck is shaped to the very comfortable modern "C" profile and is topped with a 9.5 inch radius Pau Ferro fingerboard. The fingerboard is home to 21 medium jumbo frets decorated with white dot inlays as a convenient guide.

HSS Pickups

The Fender Special Edition Noir Strat is kitted out with not just the usual pair of single-coil pickups, but also a huge-sounding humbucker pickup in the bridge position. By employing a combination of two single-coils and a humbucker, you have a full range of quintessential Strat tones with some added fire. Alternate and blend pickups using the 5-position blade along with the 2-Tone Control and Master Volume.

Hardware

As mentioned, the headcap matches the stunning Satin Black finish of the body and features dependable standard cast / sealed tuning machines. The lower bout of the body has a 6-saddle vintage-style synchronised tremolo bridge, encouraging plenty of those Strat string bends.

The body is decorated with an eye-catching 3-ply black / red / black pickguard, while Fender's traditional brand logo is also featured in red on the headstock.
