Outer controls:

Tight - Fine-tunes low-end dynamics to dial in tight, responsive riffs.

Gain - Maintains both thickness and clarity across palm-muted chugs, slides, and soaring solos.

Low/mid/high - Highly responsive 3-band active EQ, lets you sculpt tones from scooped metal to mid-forward rock.

Volume - Controls the output volume.

Inner controls for fine tuning:

Presence - Low pass filter to adapt to any preamp.

Post gain - Controls the amount of hard clipping, higher is grittier.

Note : trimmers are not meant to be constantly turned, they're "set-and-forget" type of controls. Even though we chose the highest quality possible, they have a very short life, that's just their nature. The 6 controls on the front are enough to get you anywhere.

The Dark Ages is hand wired and built with carefully selected components.

True Bypass.

9vDC only, the Dark Ages won’t benefit from a higher voltage and it will damage the circuit.

All Sunless Effects pedals feature top mounted jacks and operate on 9v DC power adapter only (standard 2.1mm negative center).

Sunless Effects pedals don’t have internal battery clips and therefore require a power supply to operate.
